WHY TO ACT

Burning problem nowadays is that so many people round the world live in extremely poor conditions without basic medical facilities; especially hit are women and children. Hundreds of them still die every year in the state of Rajasthan, north-west India , due to the unavailability of appropriate health care. For those, even the simplest disease can be life threatening, being not properly and promptly taken care of using a necessary medical equipment.

Large parts of India are simply without adequate treatment centres and health care professionals such as doctors and medical staff. Observing this situation made us aware of the critical need to provide medical assistance, specifically first-aid stations, emergency rooms and transportation of the patients. Pregnant women and sick children require high priority medical support.

The inspiration for a new project often comes from experience and the desire to create something useful. The idea to initiate the organization “Austria Hospital in India” came from Dr. Sylvia Mushawar MD, Sadhvi Shanti's many trips through India and her experiences gained there.
